Memorial Cathedral for World Peace

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

Hiroshima, Japan

Built following the destruction of the city’s original Catholic Church in the aftermath of the Hiroshima Atomic Bombing, the Memorial Cathedral for World Peace is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the blast; the bells used to call for peace are made from re-forged steel weapons from World War II. The Cathedral is closed to the public until 6:00 PM.
