Things to consider and possibly avoid

• Winters in China can get very cold, and tend to be milder but very humid in Shanghai and the south.  Rainy season can vary from region to region, and typically lasts a couple of months, from April, May to usually along the coast (including Shanghai) and June, July in Beijing.  Rainy season lasts much longer in the southern (Guilin) and southwestern (Yunnan) regions, normally from April, May to August, September.
