Get into the holiday mood with Tokyo’s Christmas markets and illuminations

Updated: Mar 31, 2020

Tokyo, Japan

For Japan-bound clients in December, Christmas is one of Japan’s biggest holidays, and Tokyo is the best and prettiest place to catch the holiday festivities and cheer. We recommend a stop at one of the dozen Christmas markets including Roppongi Hills with its avenue changing lights every minute, and where you can pick up a sausage, bier, mulled wine and glittery snow globe, Hibiya Park, a German-style market where you can shop for a wreath, ornament, or even try making your own at their craft workshop, Tokyo Midtown with its market on the basement floor of the Galleria shopping zone – don’t miss the beautiful Christmas lights outside! – and the beautiful illuminations of the countless champagne-colored bulbs of Marunouchi by Tokyo Station and decorating the zelkova trees lining the avenues of elegant Omotesando, the mysterious glows of the Blue Cavern by Shibuya, and much more!
