Punakha

Bhutan

Few places in Bhutan are as rich in history and marvelous scenery as Punakha, which served as the capital of the country until 1955, at which point it was shifted to Thimphu. Still retaining hints of its glorious past, Punakha is the perfect place from which to explore awe-inspiring dzongs, thunderous rivers and the famous Himalayan Mountain Range.
