Indonesia's Rimba Lodge
Rimba Lodge
Meaning Jungle or Forest in the Indonesian language, the Rimba Lodge fully lives up to its name. Situated on the left side of the Sekonyer River at the edge of the Tanjung Puting National Park, the Rimba Lodge is one of Kalimantan’s premier destinations in which to observe nine different primate species.
The Lodge is only minutes upriver from the Tanjung Harapan Orangutan Rehabilitation Center and offers simple, clean surroundings shaded by the massive trees that blanket it. The 15 river-edge and 20 inland rooms each offer Dayak architectural details, teak bathrooms, and an open, spacious area in which to enjoy the natural beauty and intrigue of Kalimantan.
Enjoy delightful Eastern and Western flavors in the spacious restaurant or paddle your private canoe along the river banks. As this is one of the few places in the world where visitors may observe orangutans in their natural habitat, guests will be at no shortage of natural entertainment and beauty.
