Ellora

Amidst the 34 caves found along the long escarpment of Ellora, discover some of the most splendid examples of rock cut architecture in the world. Divided into three groups, these numbered caves depict the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain faiths of this important destination on the trade route running from Madhya Pradesh to the West Coast.

The most spectacular of these caves remains the Kailasanatha Temple, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A mammoth complex, the Kailasanatha extends 266ft by 154ft, and is truly an ancient marvel of artistic ability.
