Ayers Rock
It is not difficult to understand the Aborigines spiritual attachment to Uluru, or Ayers Rock. With its awe inspiring stature and colorful change of hues as the day progresses, visitors are likely to gain their own appreciation for this mammoth structure in the heart of the Northern Territory.
Rising more than 1100ft from the surrounding plain, Uluru is one of the world’s largest monoliths. Although scientifically impressive enough, Uluru retains a certain spiritual energy that one cannot help but notice. Whether this stems from its century old use as a sacred site of the Aborigines, or simply due to its imposing posture as it stands above the plains, remains open for discussion, but the undisputed fact remains that Uluru is one of Australia’s most impressive sites.
